There are literally millions and billions of numbers, but only 26 letters.
One have known ones name since child hood,but most people CAN remember their phone number. It depends on each persons memory I suppose. Letters can also spell something we remember,but numbers are just random.
There are only 26 letters and you only have one name.. Numbers, people need to remember social security numbers, addresses, DL numbers, checking account numbers, license plate numbers, money order numbers, pin numbers and it goes on and on. More challenging and the one yu use the least is yur own phone number so it can be hard to remember.
It might have to do with the "left brain-right brain theory". The theory that one side of the brain deals with emotion and feelings while the other side of the brain deals with logic or rationality. It s thought that most people are one or the other.
I think it's because we use letters and language far more than numbers so they tend to stick more often.
Depends on the person.......some people are dominated by the left of the brain, others by the right.......
like people know how to spell there name but not theire phone number?!
