Why change the hours on our clocks? In the Northern Hemisphere, the length of day shrinks right down to about 12 hours of daylight approx by the time we reach the Autumnal Equinox as measured at Stonehenge. About 21st September. From that date on, the length of daylight goes on getting shorter.
By the time we come to about 21st December - Winter Solstice as measured at Stonehenge we are at the turning point when the days slowly start to get longer once more.
