What was the world like in 2001 ?

Well text messaging wasn't even invented in 2001. The first text message was sent in march of 2006 by the phone company called US CELLULAR. They didn't have emails back then eather. The first email was sent by google in may of 2002. So they basically just called each other. And it wasn't until around 2002-2003 that they started dressing differently. Many people in the Northern part of the USA dressed like the late 80's to late 90's so from like 1987-2002. So if you are going to Write a fiction about 9/11 I would talk about stuff like that. Oh,alot of people around 9/11 went to Parks and not play video games 18 hours a day. They played sport and study at the library instead of look it up on google or the internet because all you really could do on a computer is have a calculator and a format where you could write a letter then print it off and send it through the mail. The internet wasn't that good until around 2004 when the USA government made it Better for cyber terrorist attacks.

2001 was just like today, but without Ipods, Ipads, and GPS. Computers loaded with Windows 98SE and Windows ME were popular. Cell phones existed. But they were only phones. There was no text messaging available. The Internet existed in 2001. And there were sites other than YouTube to watch videos. Google was relatively new. The Netscape Navigator Web Browser was popular. And MP3 players didn't exist.

I was only like 5 years old in 2001 but what I do know is that WWE was known as WWF, mexicans and mexican Americans were dancing tecnobanda and not duranguense at the time, And apple released the first iPod at that time.

I may have not answered your question completely but I did give you stuff that you can use in your story like for example there could be a paragraph where you describe that the dad is watching some WWF maybe

I can tell you about 1941, if you like.

That was before anyone had television, and people listened to their favorite

radio programs every evening, (smile)

was the internet widely used? how does people usualy comunicate? is texting just as common? how do people have fun since youtube hadnt been invented? :) thanks. im writing a short fiction about a family during 911
