I saw the episode with Jerry Seinfeld and did not notice any anti-Israeli moments. Jon Stewart is a liberal and Democrat and presumably a human rights defender. Why would he agree with Zionist right-wing Israeli tactics against other human beings? Because you are Jewish does not mean you approve of the Israeli government. Israel has a leftist movement inside it but it gets no media attention.
It is very difficult being against Israel for any Jewish American but most moral people not consumed by religion cannot defend Israel. Israel does not need defending. It is so militarized it cannot be dismantled or destroyed. It is time for Israelis to act like human beings and not a killing machine.
The terms Israeli and Jew are not synonyms.
Any moral Jew would recognize that Israel does not have a right to rule Gaza or the West Bank.

While Israel certainly has the right to protect itself, that doesn't change the fact that Hamas is deliberately endangering the civilian population by putting its rocket launchers on the tops of hospitals, mosques and apartment buildings knowing full well that attacks by Israel will result in civilian casualties.
The real enemy here is Hamas - not the people living in Gaza.
he is a liberal first and a jew second. he has to go along with the liberals in hating Israel or they will turn against him and his show and his career will be over. but besides that, he doesn't have to support Israel just because he is a jew.
Opposing the deaths of 200 people, 80% of which civilians, does not make you a so-called "self-hating Jew". Neither does opposing the 47 years of brutal occupation against Palestinians which caused this conflict in the first place.
