He may well be innocent of course.
But supposing he was involved in some way, he may have thought he'd left no clue and that if he altered his normal behaviour that would make people suspect him, so the best tactic was to carry on as usual.
Let's just hope the little girl is found unharmed.
The problem for Mr Bridger is he would have known he would have been a suspect almost immediately. He had given April a ride in his car only 2 days earlier. And he didn't have much time to dispose of the body ..... I suspect the body was hidden somewhere initially that night, then moved the following the morning and most likely weighed down and thrown into the river. He was then 'walking' alongside the river to check it had not 'made an appearance' somewhere. He was too busy checking and making sure his handiwork was taken care of to be able to 'take part in a search' ..... which only makes him more suspicious as a father of several young children he should have been the first to volunteer, unforunately he had to dispose of the body then make sure his tracks were covered, which all takes time.
I obviouslly dont know one way or another, same as I dont know about Sir Jim,but us people with enquiring minds like to work on logic. What seems more likely. Holmes type logic.
He was already known to the local kids. He must have known he would be seen picking her up,as he was, almost at the start.
If he had wanted to take one of the children I think he could have thought up a method that would put him in the clear?
Remember how Ian Huntley brazenly turned up to a public meeting in the village hall following his crime? Maybe MB was trying to act cool by going about his everyday life. Or maybe he's completely innocent. (Though somehow I doubt it)
Ian Huntley didn't run away either.
He had the nerve to help with the search for Holly/Jessica & he gave tv interviews.
Because running away would only have raised suspicion. He thought he'd get away with it because they didn't know who had taken her.
I'm wondering why he was not only still in the area 20 hours later, but was walking along a public road, and towards the town, surely knowing that there was a manhunt.
