Yes its been snowing in Scuntborpe for several hours.I wanted to go to the librry tomorrow.I did hear on the news Essex was getting some snow tonight.
Just seen a UK weather forecast on the BBC, and Essex is on the edge of the snow zone, so most likely snow on the northern edge of the county, grading to sleet, and then rain near the coast/Thames estuary. Not likely to start until quite late in the night there. It is currently snowing in the north of the UK, and a changing situation of snow, changing to sleet, then changing to rain in the south west.
Being a noun the country Essex must begin with a capital letter. This avoids confusion, that's all.

It would be nice to know which Essex you were referring to.
Either that, or you could learn to use a weather site to look up the weather for your desired location.
