The blacks hate the whites
The original meaning of Apartheid (which means "separate development") was different to how it evolved. After the war it was believed that Black and white people could not live together,so a system of "separate development" was introduced where the two communities was originally supposed to be equal and the same.
As time went on the black townships became run down and that was blamed on the system. There was an awful lot made of black people not being to use transport or sit on park seats. But white people didnt want to go into transport reserved for blacks and didnt try to sit on seats reserved for black people.
Communism whipped up a lot of trouble at the time.

South Africa was a nice productive country and then blacks took over the government and "nationalized" or stole all the white peoples land.
Now South Africa is like the rest of Africa, an unproductive dump with a corrupt government.
I learned this in World History 2. It is a policy or system of segregating different races of people
