It was said to be roughly the size of the object believed to have caused the Tunguska explosion. On land it would devastate the area around the point of impact and cause blast damage over a considerable distance as well as throwing a large amount of dust in the atmosphere
In water there would be a tsunami effect and a lot of water vapour in the atmosphere

The Tunguska metorite was slighlty larger and yield on that was estimated as 10 - 15 megatons, although, as an airburst, the blast radius would be more than a ground burst.
If it hit an ocean, there would be a pretty large explosion and a fairly large amount of water vapour would be pumped into the upper atmosphere. Lots of fish and marine animals would be killed, but there wouldn't be enough energy to generate a tsunami, just large but fairly localised waves. Explosive force would probably be in the 2-3 megaton range, devastating near the epicentre but not that big in the greater scheme of things.

Just watch the movie Deep Impact.
It explains everything. Its not far from the truth as far as meterorites hitting the ocean.
Except for the parts where government would prepare bunkers for the human population. Thats not true. They can not even run things above ground properly let alone plan to live below ground.
A tsunami. which went around the Earth, Don't forget this has happened before due to a volcano. The sound went several times around the Earth (Krakatoa)
A tsunami.
Which could affect large cities near the coast.
Very likely, it could have caused a tsunami which could be more devastating and/or impact a larger area itself than if there was a ground impact.
It wasn't a near miss. A near miss would have been a hit. It nearly missed. It was a near hit in that it nearly hit to quote George Carlin.
Nothing it was too small. Many meteroites crash into the earth, but normally burn up before they land, usually in remote regions or the oceans Both the Pacific/Atlantic Oceans are at such a depth, there is no danger.
same as above
It would have killed lots of fish and two fishing boats would have capzized. Its just a piece of rock !
what effect would that asteroid have had if it had flown on a trajectory 8000 miles closer to the earth and had let's say hit the pacific or Atlantic ocean's?
