Not that I don't drive a car, but I was at work. But I agree, gas prices going crazy, now can't tell if will go up or down to know if should fill up sooner or hold off. just part of our crazy world we live in, hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes, shootings, sickness, death, sorrow & mourning.
In a way I can't wait until the new system gets here. But until them I'm going to try to go out in field service as much as I can, to help others hear about the Good News about God's Kingdom.
My husband and I only have one car that we share. Since I work from home there's no need for 2 cars. We drive a Nissan Sentra which is economical and yet gasoline is our highest expense. We live in a town in North Florida and the cheapest gas is 3.62. It seems like less than 2 months ago it was 3.13.
Besides gas, food is also going up in price.
It's prophecy being fulfilled. Revelation 6:5,6 "And when he opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say: “Come!” And I saw, and, look! a black horse; and the one seated upon it had a pair of scales in his hand. And I heard a voice as if in the midst of the four living creatures say: “A quart of wheat for a de・nar′i・us, and three quarts of barley for a de・nar′i・us; and do not harm the olive oil and the wine.”
It gets very political as well. As Americans continue to feel the effects of President Obama’s anti-oil agenda at the pump" - Hadenough
We are pumping more oil into the system than we even did under Bush. The price per barrel is LOWER by a least $40 dollars under Obama than it was under Bush. The law of supply and demand is taking a back seat to speculation. As for right now, gas prices are getting higher because the hurricane is expected to affect the Gulf and they have stopped refining. Plus a Venezuelan oil refinery exploded that may also be affecting prices on a speculative level. Neither supply or demand, nor "Obama" is at play here. No one is "blaming Bush" for things happening currently. How would anyone go about blaming Bush for DAILY changes in gas prices. That makes no sense.
"During the first twenty-six months of President Bush’s first term in office, the price of gasoline increased by 7%."
But Bush was President for 8 years not 2. During Bush's presidency gas climbed from around $1.30 to a high of around $4.15. The wars mainly cause them to rise and the recession was the reason for the fall.
Why in the world would you cherry pick 2 years out of 8? Under Obama gas NEVER averaged over $4. Gas, a least has been fairly steady under Obama but was spiking wildly under Bush.
"Clearly, other mitigating factors were at work between those two time periods. U.S. demand is one such factor, as is global supply disruptions, cartel pricing and the cost to refine and distribute, but the current price spikes obligate serious people to scrutinize our nation’s energy policy."
As if the wars and the recession had nothing to do with anything. Just major issues you happen to not include.
"I read so much on the environment issues"
If you really did you would've mentioned everything I just said. You proclaim to be in the middle but sounded more like a Conservative conspirator.
Funny how blaming Bush is crazy, but blaming Obama is alright. This isn't speech from a unbias person.
The answer to the question is that hurricane Isaac is effecting oil prodution http://stateimpact.npr.org/texas/2012/08... and the Venezuelan refinery blast may have also had a small effect.
Remember when Bush was president, gas prices went well over 4 dollars per gallon 2 different summers.
They haven't as high since, so we must prepair ourselves for REALLY high gas prices in the future.
And yes, they move around alot due to the commodities market (yes, traders make more money from options when the market prices move alot) and also from fires at refineries etc. (but we can't believe everything they tell us).
Expect it to get very high in the future. Maybe get some Rollerblades or bicycle.
Also it is good to see You today my Sister...Hugs.
It's appalling isn't it?
When I went to bed Monday night gas here in the Midwest was $3.79 per gallon; turned on the morning news at 5:30 and my goodness!!!!! it was .20 cents higher... a whopping $3.99 cents a gallon.
I bought $25.00 today and only got a little over 6 gallons!
Yep, this is certainly Satan's world with all it's uncertainties...nothing is stable...total chaos, just the way he likes it to keep his followers in confusion.
One day soon, this foolishness will be all over and we can sit back and exhale and thank Jehovah God for his goodness and fulfilling his promises to the obedient. Psalms 37:9-11
People are corrupt and greedy. There is a storm Hurricane Isaac. Because of a storm they think it's necessary to raise money so they can make a big profit. Yes, because billion dollar Gas Companies just have to receive more.
The world is wicked.
Big Big Big Oil Company Here Wanted To Take All Our Money
I Fill My Car Up Before The Gas Went Up This Time
Thanks The Lord
History shows they get even higher "after" election so we might have that to look forward too
It gets very political as well. As Americans continue to feel the effects of President Obama’s anti-oil agenda at the pump, defensive liberals (and I am not into party favors) are circling back to a familiar line of counter-attack: blame Bush. The media vacuum on gas prices has made this line of attack all the more promising with very little national coverage being given to the president’s destructive domestic drilling agenda. Unfortunately it misses an obvious point.
President George W. Bush was mostly attacked for wanting to drill too much (or being “cozy” with the oil industry), while President Obama’s policies are rooted in unilaterally shutting down the domestic oil industry amidst rising prices and a struggling economy. Neither doing right by us. Each having different views. Man has no solution to the growing problems the earth face ( often because of political factors. We don't rule ourselves well. ) We consume to much and don't care for things as we should.
Yes, the price of gasoline reached historic levels, rising above $4/gallon during Bush’s second term, but that wasn’t due to a lack of trying to increase domestic supply. U.S. domestic supply is but one factor in the global price of oil, and thus gas prices. But when a president purposefully chooses to decrease our domestic supply by 13%, with hopes of driving that supply even lower, and objects to U.S.-Canadian pipelines and new forms of exploration, discovery and friendly importation, the price consequences are real, and should be scrutinized.
During the first twenty-six months of President Bush’s first term in office, the price of gasoline increased by 7%. At the end of his second term, the price had decreased by 9% from the time he took office (adjusted for inflation). During the first twenty-six months of Obama’s term in office, the price of gasoline has spiked over 67% with no relief in site. So Obama has made it far worst than any before him(as he did our debt and out of control spending - and it won't go back much..)
Clearly, other mitigating factors were at work between those two time periods. U.S. demand is one such factor, as is global supply disruptions, cartel pricing and the cost to refine and distribute, but the current price spikes obligate serious people to scrutinize our nation’s energy policy.
The time for blame is really over what is needed is someone who will corrected more, than make it worst. Unfortunately we went from bad to the worst in almost every area. With a smile and a pep talk saying not so bad.
I read so much on the environment issues. To me it's not a matter of blame which seems to be a big trend now, but fixing it and the problems seem endless. And few really do much anymore. Greed and selfishness are so tied in to the problems.
Teller has that right also. Many people need cars to get around. Not a luxury but a necessity for many . To work, to go to the doctors, to get food.. There aren't buses for all. (and many who can don't use them). And horse and buggy won't work for the masses anymore. We are not set up that way. People will pay the price-whatever it may be as long as possible. Maybe even riot
I put my hope in God

Cjgt2--I'm not playing favorites- but facts--sorry it didn't go the way you want-I said both were not doing right by us. Each having different views. Man has no solution to the growing problems the earth face. Because they can't rule well on their own. They can't directed their own step- That is biblical. I don't know if your a believer or not.
I see a lot of switching of figures but that's what it boils down too.
And yes, I do a lot on environmental issues. Been a part of my passion and work. Don't even go there. It's not cherry picking--it's bottom line. Yes, there was a war, and political personal issues was added to fuel already a very trouble area. Is that what you wanted added? There also was one of the greatest spill and disasters- that our environment will see the effect of for years to come because someone "didn't pay attention to warnings that were given" "as he broke his campaign promise for no off shore drilling." (I didn't get into all that neither)
>We can number each ones faults if you like- this one did this, this one did that- that list would get long for both--it gets us nowhere.
"Bottom line things did not get any better on the whole or even stay neutral but became worst.
You seem to miss that very important point." <
And I can't wait till God's Kingdom? Someone who can rule well. It's prophecy being fulfilled as others mentioned.
We think oil/gas is a bad now--I have a feeling even if a temporary calm comes --not long from now it will be a nightmare.
SugarBee -same here
It's called supply and demand . People are so and dependent on car's we would pay almost anything to keep it running..
yes it has been on a rapid change lately
every day or so it is either going up or down.
That's a secret.
