You ask any Londoner, did you ever want the Olympics? Answer, a resounding NO. Let the Frogs have the damn thing.
But no - we got slapped with it and it destroyed the economy of London for weeks on end - sluggish transportation the babble of fiddle-stick language and so forth.
Bah humbug.
How dare you question our beloved leaders, when they strive day after day to provide you with dreams , illusions.... and mirages. Surely you (like me) are benefiting from the 'legacy'? You must have been have been 'pounding the streets' of your newly enriched town/village/hovel... in your new 'trainers'?
My pride in being born British, is only matched by my joy at being born with 10 toes, 1 stomach and two very attractive ears. (see attached).
The 'Olympic Park' is now a vast expanse of what the property market calls 'promising', 'historic'... and 'desirably under developed'. In plain language... that's empty, ghostly... and a bit disturbing.
As has been observed by some Brazilian people recently... It was a party we all paid for... but few of us were invited to attend.
Legacy they chirped. We heard the buzzword "Legacy" a LOT but where is it now? Greece was bankrupted by the Athens Games and the Olympic Park is like a Ghost Town now

They are building Yuppie housing on it to sell to wealthy Chinese and Russians, using the Government "Help to Bye bye" scheme...
Which country?
We never hear a word about the olympic park and venues now and i suppose it suits the government to keep it quiet.
We need to know what a waste of money this was apart from the east end of London getting 60 years of redevelopment in 6 years.
While our village is been destroyed by over development the Londerners have the Olympis park.
our roads are a disgrace while the queen has just launched a mew Aircraft carrier that will have no planes for six years and this money should go on the roads
