Perhaps victims of these criminals should answer this question. Are they satisfied with the effectiveness of our justice system. Many of these answers make sense and fit the crime, but the justice system has become a self serving industry that doesn't make sense. Once these people cross these really thick lines of normalcy
the chances of them not recommitting are high. We need to find an answer to this that assures the safety of children without a doubt. In the meantime parents need to watch for the signs of this. Talk to your kids.

Apparently there are people in this world who have sexual preferences for something different than just a member of the opposite sex, and they say they were "born that way".
If THAT is the case then isn't being "born that way" a mental condition that needs to be dealt with?
Even if someone is "born that way", they don't have to act on their perverted urges. So I suggest that they should be locked away in a mental home until their VICTIM decides to forgive them. THAT WAY it guarantees that as long as the victim is suffering as a result of the crime, the perpetrator is suffering too. If it takes a year, fine. If the victim never gets over it, then they stay locked up forever.
Unfortunately studies have only shown time and time again that there is no reforming this type of behavior. These people cannot control their urges, if your going to set them lose in the world then at least castrate them first and then put an implant tracking device to monitor their whereabouts at all times. The only thing that prison time does to people like this is reform them into being more careful about not getting caught. This is what leads to repeat offenders killing their victims.

I don't think there is anything you can do to paedophiles. Even if you could punish a paedophile for their deeds, there is no guarantee that their thought process won't be "waaaah I'm being punished unfairly for no reason at all!" or "My sexual needs come first!" or "That child was totally leading me on!" or even "Children can so consent to sex!!1!".
