"Janet" -- I am an Australian. I do not play cricket and I actually find it boring. I rarely drink beer and mostly drink wine (usually red) or whiskey. I do like eating lamb, but not mutton or two-tooth which are also "sheep". I have eaten kangaroo and actually like it because it is a much leaner meat. I also eat a lot of chicken, beef and pork, some duck especially Chinese Roast Duck and Peking Duck. I eat some Turkey especially around Christmas and New Year. I have also eaten snake (when I was much younger), Dog (in Indonesia) Turtle (here in Australia when much younger), frogs (in Cambodia), snails (in Cambodia) and plenty of all forms of seafood.

Yes, many Australians like to sunbath, but we now do it more carefully than when I was young.

Not all Australian women like being called "Sheila" although it is a colloquialism for girl or woman.

If the "White Anglo-Saxon Australians" look at their ancestry many, but certainly not all, will find convicts in their family tree. I certainly have several. Many Australians have forebears who came as "Free Settlers" or as troops/police etc. Other Australians have European ancestry from other nations, especially since 1945 or earlier with the Gold Rush of the 1850's which also brought many ethnic Chinese. I know many Australian citizens, either born here or migrated here, whose ancestry in Southeast Asian from Vietnam and Cambodia. Some have even come from Malaysia, Singapore or Indonesia. More recently we have had Africans who came as refugees and taken Australian citizenship or were born here of African origins.

Australians are a multinational ethnic mixture speaking many languages, with many cultures and religions.

The majority of Australians live on the coast in major cities with the largest numbers on the east coast (Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and the two cities of Tasmania (Hobart and Launceston).

Only that they come from a 'Land Down Under' - other then that I don't know anything about them because, like the British, they don't have national pastimes everyone does.

Mostly they live in Australia but sometimes they live in other countries . The men like to play cricket and drink beer , the women like to sunbathe and are all called ' Sheila ' . They eat sheep but not kangaroos and are all descended from convicts .

Only that I've never met one I didn't like.
