It sounds as though someone simply had the wrong address.
If they had wanted to rob you, they would have done so, when you opened your door to them.
Robbers break into a house. They don't politely knock on the door or ring the bell.
Since they came by in the middle of the night, my first guess is that they were hoping
to buy street drugs from you.
Unless it happens again, there is no need to involve the police.
You should definitely call the police to just report the incident as it sounds very suspicious.
You might want to also check with your neighbors to see if they've had similar experiences or perhaps one of your neighbors will mention how his stupid cousin was coming over and got the wrong address.
But they said they had gotten the wrong house,so that puts you in the clear.Go back to sleep!
it was like 2:00 in the morning and some dudes were at my door ringing the doorbell and knocking on my door i just ignored them and went back to sleep,then they starting knocking harder and then i just thought they might be the police so i opened the door and these 2 guys were standing at my door saying "oh we had the wrong house" so then i closed the door and went back to sleep. Now that i woke up this morning i thought about what just happened last night. What did happen last night?! i didn't call the police yet but i saw there car its like a black tahoe with big rims anyways should i call the police and file a report? at the moment i dont really feel all that safe =/
