New York City is one of the densest populations of democrats in the nation. New York City alone carries enough voting power to turn the whole state "blue", giving all of its electoral votes to Obama. These aren't states that are known for their swing voters. The entire New England area is solidly blue!
So why in the world would Obama essentially destroy a large chunk of his voters' homes, endangering elections in crucial blue states?
Had the hurricane somehow hit Texas, then yeah, sure, unbelievable science aside, at least you'd have a valid motive. But New York? New Jersey? Connecticut? Why would a democrat attack here in hopes of affecting the election?

Usually when HAARP is used there are circular radar impressions along the perimeter of the storm path but then maybe they have perfected it.
