It's just another stupid doomsday hoax.
From NASA:
Q: What is the origin of the prediction that the world will end in 2012?
A: The story started with claims that Nibiru, a supposed planet discovered by the Sumerians, is headed toward Earth. This catastrophe was initially predicted for May 2003, but when nothing happened the doomsday date was moved forward to December 2012. Then these two fables were linked to the end of one of the cycles in the ancient Mayan calendar at the winter solstice in 2012 -- hence the predicted doomsday date of December 21, 2012.

From Mayan experts:
"Mayans never predicted world to end in 2012: experts"
"(Reuters) - If you are worried the world will end next year based on the Mayan calendar, relax: the end of time is still far off.
So say Mayan experts who want to dispel any belief that the ancient Mayans predicted a world apocalypse next year.
"We have to be clear about this. There is no prophecy for 2012," said Erik Velasquez, an etchings specialist at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM)."

So go play with your friends or play video games or do whatever it is you do for fun.
Because the truth is you've got nothing to worry about.
The ancient Mayans created a calendar, and their calendar ends on that day.
The calendar on my wall ends on 12/31/2012, but that doesn't mean the world is going to end that day! Same thing with the Mayan calendar.
The real Mayans who live in southern Mexico and Central America certainly don't seem to be worrying about it. They have other things to occupy their time, like building schools and clinics. Would they be doing that if they thought they would die in a couple of months? I doubt it.
Kid, wow, don't worry. We will not be dying in 2012, people are just paranoid about this happening because the Mayans didn't have the time I guess to finish the calendar.
Also, I believe that people thought that the end of the world was in 2000, because once it hit midnight, then all of the electricity would go cray-cray and all the bombs will go off, but this didn't happen. A lot of people come up with these end of the world scenarios, but they're just really paranoid. uwu
Think about it. With 7 billion people on the planet about 19 million have to die every DAY of the year to be replaced by 19 million births just for the population to stay static. Can't see any sign of us all going at one particular time. Don't worry.
People have been predicting the end of the world ever since their have been people on the planet.
They have been "predicting" the end of the world, forever, no one knows, no one has a crystal ball either.
I heard that in 2000 some people say we would die. Well we are alive. Now people say we will die in December or something because the Mayan calendar ends on that day. Did they run out of stone for their calendar or something? I'm not worried at all, most people aren't, but what's the story? Why that day? Why the Mayans? What happened in 2000? Will we even die in December? Do I get to see Jesus? I'm still a kid, so please don't give a lot of fancy technical info.
