The end of the world..?

Posted at: 2015-04-20
The world is not ending.

If you want to worry, worry about real things. You could die tomorrow slipping in the shower, getting hit by a car, or contracting the flu.

Stop believing everything you hear. It is just a bunch of BS based on a misreading of the Mayan calendar. There have been many, many predictions of the end of the world over the last 2,000 years.

By the way, do you read Google news or any other news sites? Funny thing. Lots of news on what celebrities are doing but nothing on the end of the world. You'd think that news sites would give a mention.

Those space guys, NASA, address this issue:

Question (Q): Are there any threats to the Earth in 2012? Many Internet websites say the world will end in December 2012.

Answer (A):The world will not end in 2012. Our planet has been getting along just fine for more than 4 billion years, and credible scientists worldwide know of no threat associated with 2012.

Q: What is the origin of the prediction that the world will end in 2012?

A: The story started with claims that Nibiru, a supposed planet discovered by the Sumerians, is headed toward Earth. This catastrophe was initially predicted for May 2003, but when nothing happened the doomsday date was moved forward to December 2012 and linked to the end of one of the cycles in the ancient Mayan calendar at the winter solstice in 2012 -- hence the predicted doomsday date of December 21, 2012.

Q: Does the Mayan calendar end in December 2012?

A: Just as the calendar you have on your kitchen wall does not cease to exist after December 31, the Mayan calendar does not cease to exist on December 21, 2012. This date is the end of the Mayan long-count period but then -- just as your calendar begins again on January 1 -- another long-count period begins for the Mayan calendar.

Q: Is NASA predicting a "total blackout" of Earth on Dec. 23 to Dec. 25?

A: Absolutely not. Neither NASA nor any other scientific organization is predicting such a blackout. The false reports on this issue claim that some sort of "alignment of the Universe" will cause a blackout. There is no such alignment (see next question). Some versions of this rumor cite an emergency preparedness message from NASA Administrator Charles Bolden. This is simply a message encouraging people to be prepared for emergencies, recorded as part of a wider government preparedness campaign. It never mentions a blackout.

Q: Could planets align in a way that impacts Earth?

A: There are no planetary alignments in the next few decades and even if these alignments were to occur, their effects on the Earth would be negligible. One major alignment occurred in 1962, for example, and two others happened during 1982 and 2000. Each December the Earth and sun align with the approximate center of the Milky Way Galaxy but that is an annual event of no consequence.

I'm a worry wart too but I'm at great peace regarding the end of the world. Please stop watching programs that talk about this because they are made by mere men who are only speculating or using real science in an exaggerated way to some degree. Most of them are not Christians either. They don't show how you can escape the great judgment that is coming. They leave you terrified and hanging. Be sure, though, the world will end during the Battle of Armageddon. Christ said that if He had not returned during that time, no life would be left on earth.

Read the Bible and start with John then read I, II and III John. Ask Jesus to save and cleanse you from all your sins and He will. The plan of salvation is so simple but you must have a contrite heart. We all fear death but once we are saved, we know exactly where our soul will spend eternity. See if your outlook changes!

Okay honestly you shouldn't believe that they try to scare people all the time what happen about the end of the world in 2000? Or 6/6/06 ? We're still here aren't we? That mayan calendar just happened to end at 2012 oh well!! They didn't count leap years and we do so 2012 would have been a long time ago if we didnt count leap years. Be scared of gamma rays killing us that is more likely to happen than the this 2012 bs..

Y2K was a real threat because of programming faults in electronics, but thats neither here nor there.

Think about the end like this; You're going to die anyways. So what if it comes early? Dying now would just mean you've made less mistakes you need to regret. Just accept it. World ends? Big whoop. Life is the universes practical joke. There is no way to explain how life came to be, and its just as hard to say how we'll die.

Here's the deal. The world COULD come to an end.. but its pretty unlikely, but, yes, it could happen. Now, you could spend every single day of the whole of your life worrying about it, and have a miserable time... and then turn round at the end of your probably long life and think..'Oh GOD, I've totally wasted my life''. OR.. you could go out there and enjoy everything there is.. sunny days, Christmas, exciting news stories, new films, excellant books, nice people, puppies, etc etc, and just forget about something that may happen, probably wont and is something you can do nothing about.. it's a no brainer if you ask me.

I suppose my head must be made of bone or something because I never give a seconds thought to it.

You leave your self open to all kind of scams if you believe every thing you are told as Gospel.

Surely you realise the President would have been on the tv,the army on stand by. I am an Englishman and we are not easy scared as history shows. Please don't worry. You can trust the crane driver.

The earth is scheduled to end, when our star - the sun - runs out of fuel.

It will expand, becoming a "red giant" star, and consume the solar system.

Later it will shrink into a "white dwarf" star, before exploding far and wide.

That's the bad news. Do you want to hear the good news too?

That won't happen for another 3 000 000 000 years. (That's three billion.)

Now, go back to watching children's t.v.

no,the scientists three years ago stated that there is no end of the world

as per chinese calender the world would end on 21 dec 2012 but t he scientists proved that is wrong and stated the has many more crores of years of age

no one has nothing to worry

Dude didnt we like... live through like 2 judgement days that were "true" or something?

What about leap years? inclyuding those we already passed the end of the world thing.

We will find out if the world is really going to end on dec.21.2012 calm down everthings going to be fine

I am honestly petrified of the end of the world. I am sitting here having chest pains from just thinking about it. There are all this things on the television saying how it could be possible and I heard something about a doomsday clock? and just a whole bunch of things. I don't even know.. I just can't help but to be worried. Everyone makes jokes about it or says the ones who believe it are idiots and so forth but what if, what if it REALLY happened. I mean.. I know there is nothing we could do if it truly were to happen but I'm just so scared. I'm like hearing and feeling things from getting so worked up about it and it's making it worse. I don't know how to get over it, to stop thinking about it. It doesn't help that I am just a worrywart in general. I don't know what to do with myself..

OH NON ESSERE SPAVENTATO PER IL 2012... AVEVANO PREVVISTO LA FINE DEL MONDO ANCHE NEL 2000 E NEL 2006... MA SIAMO ANCORA QUI... QUINDI NO TI SPAVENTARE PERCHE' SONO SOLO LEGGENDE E CREDENZE MAYA... I MAYA HANNO SCRITTO UN LORO CALENDARIO CHE NON HA NIENTE A CHE VEDERE CON NOI. PER CUI IL MONDO FINISCE PER LORO PERCHE' INIZIA COS' UNA NUOVA ERA, MA IL NOSTRO CALENDARIO CONTINUA ANCORA... quindi KEEP CALM

I was scared too until I read this! http://www.nasa.gov/topics/earth/feature...

It is useless to worry about that which you cannot change. And, if you can change it, why would you worry about it?

Calm down! We'll all be fine.

It's up to you you either believe it or not.GL

NOOOO
