Barnstaple is not that far from Somerset. I had to move from Scotland to Birmingham as a 16 year old because I couldn't find a suitable engineering apprenticeship in Scotland so the Employment Office offered me one in Brum. One of my fellow apprentices came from Braunton in North Devon, one from Minehead and the other from Cornwall so moving to Barnstaple should be no big deal for you. You can still lead the kind of life you have in Somerset and make good new friends.
By the way, you are lucky to live in the south west, it's a lovely part of the country.

Whatever you decide do so because its what YOU want to do and make your decision because it is good for you and not them. may sound cold but after all it is your life right? think about it.

hi, i'm 17 years old and i attend college, i was born in north Devon then my parents divorced when i was 3 so i moved with the mother to somerset, iv'e been looking for a job and would really like one, see i have a job offer in Barnstaple so i can earn money and attend college but i don't want to leave the life iv'e made in somerset, i'm part of student union to and its so good, i book college parties and dj's and i want to stay and do that and i don't want to leave all my friends, but i know that if i do move, it will also be good for me, and ill be earning money, i actually cannot decide on if i should make my move to the fathers house in the summer holidays or not! iv'e made a pros and cons list and they equal exactly the same, iv'e spoke to friends about it and it hasn't helped, its worth a try asking here, so. should i move or not? thanks :)
