Well, in the real world of physics, there are several things wrong with your wish.
Trying to land a helicopter on top of any burning building is very, very dangerous, because the thermal uplifts caused by the fires are very likely to cause the copter to lose flight control. The blades of the copter create lift, and the movement of the air, and it's temperature/density, affects that lift greatly.
The most likely result would be a crashed copter, and in such a situation, it's debris could easily add to the fires, and fall off of the building, becoming a flaming debris hazard to people in the building and on the ground around the building.
On top of that, most building have all sorts of gear on their roofs. On the WTC North Tower, there were major TV broadcasting antennas, which would have been a major further hazard to trying to land a copter on such a roof.
On 9/11, there were police helicopters who tried to get as close as they dared to the towers, and their pilots were very clear on the fact that they viewed such a landing attempt to have been impossible.
Besides all that, the damage to the buildings from the almost fully loaded 767s hitting the towers damaged or wrecked major parts of the structure of the towers, that's a part of why they collapsed. Among that damage were destroyed stairwells, including some stairs going upwards.
As for the idiotic idea of ziplines, again, such a silly notion fails to take in the effect of flame fed winds on such lines and on anyone trying to use them.
The only rescue alternatives that could have worked would have required either Spiderman or Superman to be real.
I was 40 KM away from Manhattan that morning, and I was in Lower Manhattan just the day before. I know what I'm talking about.
They should have had a zip line between the towers, or to another tall building, if they did the majority of victims would not have died.
There is also a large tubular net that people can use to slide down in order to escape. They did not have that either.
If the helicopter landed on the roof too many people would force their way inside it. MOre people would hang onto the skids. The helicopter could not carry so much weight and it would plummet.
Part of the problem was the lack of sufficient safety exits. Once the planes hit the tower and disabled enough elevators and staircases, people above a certain level were stuck in the building.
Yes, there *were* fire exits, but the building was built thinking there would be a small office fire, not a plane smashing into it full of high-grade jet fuel on fire.
Hi There! I wish i were in NYC and not in this shitty country but well, this is the life. I've wondered this sometimes and i can′t find a solution to this and even i found a video of a helicopter flying around the Twin Towers while one of them was collapsing, the guy said: ****!
First of all NO airliners hit the buildings!
The buildings were destroyed by explosives.
WE THE PEOPLE have been lied to!
WAKE UP AMERICA
its later than U think!
Ok so .. I think that all skyscrapers should have a emergency day on what to do if a plane hits the building that's the first thing. I just came across the World Trade Center and I felt very very sad about it. Just wanted to cry for the people's lives.
I was thinking of ways people actually could have been saved like for instance they could have had a helicopter to fly to the victims who were alive on the higher floors and saved them that way right ??
I know this probably might have been a hard task but I just wish somebody could have thought of at least something to try to help , likee I said a helicopter. What do you all think ?
