Yes, and do you want to know why? Because no one REALLY knows when the world will end. Or HOW it will end. Sure, a bunch of people would say that you're being paranoid or whatever, but if you really think about it, you should be prepared for a bunch of things. I'm not saying that you should buy one. I was mostly explaining why they were purchased in the first place. There has always been hysteria about the world ending and there always will be.
If your are in a major city I would think its smart. Better to leave the city imo. A cyber attack can take down our grid and crash our banking system, ask any experts in those fields. And it does not have to be the end of the world. It could be anything like a virus or the country being attacked and store shelves are empty. People buy insurance every month and never see their money again, at least with a bunker or supplies to maintain your family for months doesn't necessarily have to go to waste.
