You are quite right,
Medicaid is Welfare. SSI [Supplemental Security Income] is welfare.
Working people pay into Social Security, which now is linked to Medicare.
But there is one detail more.
From the very beginning of the Social Security system, young workers were paying for the older workers as they retired. It is exactly like a Ponzi scheme except for the fact that it is not fraudulent. We all know that it is simply robbing Peter to pay Paul.
Where did you get all this mistaken information? Social Security is not out of money. People work and pay SS taxes every day so there is always money there.
Medicare is paid by each person individually. The monthly Part B premiums for those who worked in the U.S. over 10 years is $105 a month this year plus co-pays, deductibles, co-insurance, supplemental insurance.
Medicaid is also given to people who are working and people who also have employer insurance they cant afford. And to seniors whose income is very low.
Please look at the source of this question and ignore these trolls. Unfortunately this site -- which used to be a good place to ask questions -- should join the government and be shut down
Social Security is old age pension that people pay into their whole working lives. And the government has spent it all. And now the scheme is to have the younger workers pay the older peoples pensions that the government held in sacred trust but they stole it all.
Medicare is health care after social securtiy starts. Out of $2200 an older couple gets monthly, the medicare deducts $750/mo for health insurance. It is also taxed.
Medicaid is handouts to those who have not ever paid into even if they have worked in their life.
