London marathon death how did claire squire die?

Seen in few papers that a woman died but none of them say what killed her

One paper said 190000 has been donated in her memory is that true

Could be anything - but probably an underlying heart condition. I did the marathon yesterday, ran it 9 times now, and even with my experience its a ball breaker mentally and psychically at 24-25 miles. I think that dare i say it - that charities have to consider the fact that they give places away willy-nilly to people who are doing a serious athletics event. These people who watch the coverage and then decide to sign up. I train for 4 months for the marathon and theres loads of people ive spoken to in march time who have only done 10 or so miles. thats dangerous. As i understand it here, its not this here because she was a good runner. tragic all the same.

According to wikipedia marathon deaths are roughly 1 in 50,000 participants.

Having been on a water table in the latter thrid of the London Marrathon for the last 10 races I know that the untrained and heavily costiumed runners usually end up jogging at best and walking for the most part.

It is recommended that yo ushould trian 45 miles a week before hand to avoid heart problems

Possible heart problem but nothinig certain as yet.

To above who says train 45mls a week to avoid heart prolems.I previously ran 30 to 50 mls per week and did so for a number of years yet only this year learned I needed a heart stent.Mileage is no gaurantee and pre checks don't always find a problem as with the young Italian footballer who had had numerous checks yet died during a game. You can be super fit and still have problems.

Probably heart problems. Many fit young people have heart problems, look at those footballers, one died recently and that other young footballer who was in a coma though he is ok now.

While I think it is very sad she died especially at such a young age, I cannot understand this big outpouring of grief by everyone. None of these people met her. Yes its tragic but people die every day, young people and children.

What is this need to express our sadness so publicly over people we have never met. And while her death is being ‘publicised’ why isn’t every other unexplained death? Why isn’t every death of a young person publicised?

Is it the internets fault, with so many forums and outlets for us to express opinion, or is it the ‘Princess Diana’ effect?

Not even her own family will know at this point, time needs to be taken in doing post morten tests. Any cause of death will just be guesswork at this point.

Nobody knows why she died yet but over half a million pounds has been raised in her name!

There has to be an Autopsy, but it seems likely its heart failure. They did not spend 15 hours trying to revive her.She was only white.
