Or they're full of poop and just want to cover their asses and continue to cover up the horrible things they did to him. Of course I don't condone what he has done but let's face it, if this was the Christopher dorner movie, we would all be cheering him on and waiting to see his next kill scene with giant smiles on our faces.
How long do you think it takes to perform an autopsy, forensic testing, etc. on human remains? It's not an hour episode of some crime show, it's real life. It may be days before results are complete and possibly loner before the information is made public
They just wanna draw out the drama. Makes the numbers look good.
