America would never dare go to war with Russia or China. America is only capable of invading 3rd world countries.
America can't even handle Iraq or Afghanistan, how are they gonna take on the superpowers of Russia and China?
And an intercept doesn't usually call for a war. Unless the American missile was directly aimed at Russias satellites or fired inside Russias land. Russia has already placed their advanced interceptors in Azerbaijan which is right above Iran.
It is highly unlikely that America will dare attack Iran since Russia and China have clearly stated that they won't be happy, which is why America hasn't been backing Israel, in fear of angering Russia and China.

yes that would mean we would go to war with russia as well personally i believe that would be one of the hardest american wars ever but you also gotta think of the allies we have NATO and canada i think it would be a pretty even war
