Second of all, why would the terrorists intentionally choose to attack on 9/11 - a day they *KNOW* everything will have added security? There was no special meaning behind launching the attack on 9/11. It just happened to be the date when all the schedules lined up. Nothing more. It holds zero special meaning to the terrorists.

NORAD - the North American Aerospace Defence Command - is a joint Canadian-American military command whose mission is defending the entire North American continent against any threats approaching by sea, air and space (i.e.: intercontinental ballistic missiles).
No hijacked planes coming from foreign countries are going to get anywhere near the USA.
They'll be detected, identified as fake, and shot down over the Atlantic ocean long before they can do any harm to your country.
So smarten up, look it up, and get on with your life.

Edit: It's now September 12th. And nothing happened. There were no new 9/11 terrorist attacks.
I hate to say I told you so, but I told you so. And so did a lot of others responders to this question.
Now maybe you'll learn the value of knowledge and common sense instead of sitting around letting your imagination get the best of you.

So with tensions well above rising in the middle east, 11 confirmed foreign air crafts being taken with no known where about, and terrorist declaring they are on the verge of doing something, I'm terrified. I'm only 18 years old and I know I'm not a kid anymore, but this is truly terrifying. I live in the South, but I'm worried about what will take place on that day and if anywhere near me will be targeted? What do you think? Please give me some input.

2001 is a long time ago. Why should 2014 be at any greater risk than all the other times since ? Personally I think its a bit too obvious. But what ever,we know how cruel and ruthless the extreme Islamists are. They will stand at nothing to further their perverted views. its astonishing to me that the good nations of this world dont come together to destroy this perverted monster before they take us all over.
However,as far as terrorist attacks go,they is utterly nothing ordinary people can do except urge our leaders to show more and more strength towards those of evil. We just have to pray to our just God that we are not caught up in any attacks they may unleash on the innocents of this world,but I dont think it will be this anniversary.

just live your life and if something happens there is absolutely nothing we can do about it.. i used to be terrified until very recently. im 20.. i used to get all worked up thinking about terrorists or the end of the world.. but one day i thought.. *being scared isnt going to keep it from happening*, its not going to save me if we get bombed or anything. so just quit getting all worked up over things that are not under your or anyone around you control. i admit, i still get uneasy with certain thoughts. what happens when we die? thats probably the ultimate mystery no live being will ever know. but anyways, theres not much point in being afraid. ill say it one last time, "Being scared isnt going to keep it from happening" i honestly hope this helped because ive been there, the constant anxiety and fear..
