You're a Katrina evacuee, who owned NO land or home property---so it wasn't that big an ordeal for you to pack up and haul *** out of Louisiana. Shoe's on the other foot, when---and IF---you one day DO own a home that you have years of payments vested in....and in an eye blink---natural disaster wipes it all clean off Earth.
THEN you'll come to enjoy the fun of dealing with double talking weasel slick con artists you signed "contracts" with---purporting to be insurance companies---who want your "business" ( money )....but they don't want to DO business with you!!
And the very U.S. Government agencies YOUR TAX DOLLAR pays for is run by inept monkeys---who bungle your claim up so bad---it could take YEARS to undo the "red tape" IF that ever clears up at all.
ONLY then, can you fully understand the woes many go through.
I recall an obese (black american) New Orleans woman being being dragged out of the Katrina flood waters - screeching:
"'Lawdie, Lawdie - praise to da Lord Jesus. I thought I was drowning - so I prayed to Jesus - 'SAVE ME !!!' -and HE DID !!!"
Hmm - ACTUALLY, as was well recorded on TV and broadcast globally - this dingbat's rescue/saving was down to the brave/efficient intervention of a well-trained local rescue squad.
NOT that the fat, stupid woman them much credit for their efforts.
She insisted her faith in Jesus saved her.
OBLIVIOUS, IGNORANT of the fact the same good 'Saviour' had somehow allowed 100s of others to die - drown in the floods.
Perhaps cos her prayers to the good lord were better, more sincere - or SHE was a specially CHOSEN ONE - to stay alive - and spread the good word, in praise of Jesus ?

All people in NEW ORLEANS are not stupid unfortunately many in NEW ORLEANS and many other cities live in generational welfare they are used to a gov. check and used to havin the man take care of them thats the life they have learned sad but true

I'm not and outsider looking in, I am an insider looking out. I have never understood why they are so proud and ignorant at the same time. I am NOT a racist by any means. I am soooooo sick of hearing about complaints about not having any lights. A hurricane just passed. DUH you will be w/o lights until the situation is addressed in your area. I've heard complaints about not being elligible for FEMA as well. wtf can they be that dumb to expect compensation for evacuating? It's like they are completely unaware that MS gulf coast is under water worse than Katrina. Selfishness and ignorance of surroundings is what I call it. Anyone have any logical reasoning behind this thinking?
