Unfortunately, most ABDUCTIONS,--by perverts, do not end well. Before the child is found, if found at all........the damage has already been done.
But again, we hear more about the cases where the children are miraculously found alive........
Elizabeth Smart, Joyce Dugard.....that kid named Stephen, who turned up after like 10 years......when his abductor snatched a new kid....and it was Stephen who saved the kid,and escaped and went to the police. Sadly, he never really re-adjusted to life, and was killed in a car accident just a few years later , after all that.
I so wanted Madelaine McCann to be found alive,......but last I heard.......there was just nothing new on that front. Whatever happened to her.........she is long gone.
But like Joyce Dugard or others.......she may still turn up one of these days.......but I can't imagine it will be a happy ending. Sad stuff.
Weasel McWeasel gets it about right. The vast majority of 'missing' small children have actually been taken by a parent or grandparent who did not get custody rights.
Cases where a child simply vanishes are quite rare, which is why we hear so much about them when they do happen, and it's even more rare for one of those children to return, but it does happen and I dearly hope it will happen one day for the McCanns and for the Gosdens and the Needhams and all the rest of the missing children who've vanished without a trace.
I can't find the link, but I heard it's about 85% that get found, so most get found, only rarely a child goes missing, and won't get found at all.
Lets not do or sing sad songs. not many are found.
