I have a C & C license and no one will ever know it until such time as I am forced to use it..HYPOTHETICAL NOW:: If we're in a restaurant and a shooter comes in, would you like me to stop him with my gun, or would you just slap him in his nasty face with a hamburger?? You ANTI-GUN people think about this..
While I don't think that banning guns outright is the answer but rather have a stricter screening policy for whoever wants to own one such as a mandatory course in which a person must pass on responsible ownership, storing, maintenance and using a gun such as lessons on common misconceptions and do's and don'ts and all that common sense stuff. If you pass, you can get your permits
A stricter background check would help a little too in order to keep guns away from the mentally ill (such as the bi-polars, the schizophrenics, the multiple personalities and the such) as well as those convicted of any sort of violent offenses.
Magazine size- It's not necessary at all to own removable magazines bigger than say 10 rounds. You're not going into combat anytime soon so why would you need a 30+ round magazine if you're just going to spend a day at the shooting range or hunting
Fully automatic firearms should be kept out of civilian hands all together. Coupled with restricting magazine size and my previous bit about not going into combat any time soon, full auto firearms should be kept out of civilian hands period. You can still get all your favorite guns in semi automatic version anyway... and why would you need one to begin with? Saying "because the constitution says i can is not an answer"
No to guns. Every civilised country in the world has done away with them and have a much lower gun murder rate, because the psychos and lunatics can't get hold of them.
42 people were murdered with guns in Chicago last month - 42!!! That's more than in the United Kingdom in an entire year. The argument that 'only bad guys will have guns' doesn't stand up - gun crimes are committed by mentally unstable people that commit the act on the spur of the moment, they don't spend time researching where to get a gun and which one to use. Look at Adam Lanza and Sandy Hook - his mother was a gun fanatic. The day he flipped he reverted to what he had been indoctrinated with and what he had to hand - a gun. The Columbine murderers bought their guns from friends (decent, law abiding citizens who had no idea what they were planning to do).
Fewer guns means fewer deaths, there's no other argument when we're talking about an instrument designed for killing.
Making something against the law will not always stop it.. If guns were ever against the law than only the bad guys would have them..
I also feel schools should have guards
We could use the money we give to countries that hate us,our children are more important!!
Having a gun will not help all the time but being defenseless will never help..
