Why should the country give up their constitution because some school decided not to emplace security?
You don't mind armed security when it comes to the bank that protects your money. And you dont even mind bringing your children into the bank who see that their are armed personell. You consider this normal right? When it comes to protecting your cash? But you consider this an abnormal precaution when it comes to protecting your precious children? Where is this mental disconnect coming from here? Shame on anti-gun activists for promoting a "false solution" which obviously will never work. Case in point. Every day maximum security prisons after doing cell shakedowns come upon homemade and real guns. If you cant keep em out of maximum security prisons what planet do you have to be on to assume that they can keep black market guns off the streets? You can go on you tube and get instruction on how to make a shotgun out of PVC pipe and a nail.So ban PVC pipe and nails right? You can also go on youtube and learn how to make homemade bullets and shotgun shells. You can also go online and learn hoe to assemble a very effective flamethrower with a supersoaker, gasoline, and a BBQ lighter. So Get real. And find a school that is lucid enough to have armed security in the building, especially at the entry.
In Philadelphia schools have armed security guards, and faculty is trained and licensed to carry and use a firearm. The teachers themselves are armed. You wont se a Sandy Hook in Philadelphia. Maybe its time the rest of the country pull its head out of its preverbal ------ and adopt the same measures YA THINK???!
Now the argument will start about gun control and the real problem will elude everyone again. Thousands own guns in this country that cause no problems. [This is where you ask "Then if guns aren't the problem what is?"].
I'm glad you asked. This country does a lousy job when it comes to mental illness. I suffer from Bipolar and Schizoaffective Disorders. Without medication I'm the dirty bum on a street corner in the city having an argument with the side of a building. My meds cost close to $3000 a month. I luckily have the assets. If you met me you couldn't tell I suffer from a mental illness but there are a lot of people not as fortunate as I am. But people will forget the real cause of this massacre and we'll just end up with a debate on gun control.
In China, this past summer, where no one has a gun. Parents of a 21 year old man tried to get him in a Hospital because of his mental health. They were turned down again and again for 3 weeks. During the 3rd week the 21 yo took two swords ran down a crowded city street and killed 11 people.
So let's take away the guns, but then they'll use knives/swords. Let's take away the knives/swords, and they'll use baseball bats. Take away the baseball bats and they'll use baby diapers to smoother you. NO please don't take away the baby diapers.
Also there are too many guns out here they would never all be turned in. So let the people have their guns. Even make them easier to get. Control the ammo, you see today's modern guns you can't make the ammo at home.
I'm sure that sometime in your life you have been so made at someone you would kill them with your bare hands. We all have, but you controlled yourself and that person is still alive. The problem is reality and the mentally ill are not in the same room at times. A normal person is not going to shoot 5yo kids and his mother. We have tragedies over and over again and all that anyone wants to do is debate gun control, when mental illness is the real problem.
The principal did all she could do with what she had. She lunged at the shooter to stop him from killing kids. Had she been trained and armed she may have killed him first. It is not a disgrace that we Americans have guns---we are less violent that the Middle East, etc--but it is a disgrace that, knowing there are evil people out their, we fail to protect our people.
Are you saying the deceased mother should not have legally owned those 3 guns?
If people want guns, how about a one gun limit ?

Hi Im writing from Hungary. I saw the horrible shooting that happened in Connecticut on yahoo, and already some articles are about gun laws. In my opinion it wouldnt solve anything at all. How will strict gun laws prevent these shootings? Please tell me theres more logic in the world than this.. So criminals care about laws? You have to be a special kind of stoopid to think so. They will get guns one way or another.
Strict gun laws make sure that only the bad guys have guns, and the good guys dont. Whats needed is trained and armed teachers, staff, security guards, to be ready if needed. Guns dont kill people, they are tools used by people to kill people, or to shoot at beer cans and shiet. Its like saying obesity is caused by spoons. I hope these kids, teachers rest in peace. But taking away more freedom wont help.
Thats my opinion, I would like to hear everybody else's too, what do you think is the solution, and what do you think about trained/armed staff. I think that would help alot, if not solve these horrible events.
