Do you think the Steubenville girl just wanted money?

I can't believe you even thought of this question?

Whether or not she "gets around alot" as you so eloquently put it, has no bearing on the fact that she was raped. The witnesses who testified against the boys were other members of the football team, their own friends who were there and saw it happen. The main reason this was a big deal is not because of the rape itself, which almost got swept under the rug and forgotten. If it weren't for anonymous stepping in and making this a national headline, nothing would have been done about it, and the rapist football players would be out there doing it again.

If she had wanted money, she wouldn't have posted the details of the crime on the internet. She would have had her lawyer offer a deal to the rapists that would have allowed everyone to just walk away.

Considering how hard everyone was working to cover this up, I think a reasonable offer would have been acceptable.

So, no, I don't think she was after money. She wanted justice.

Maybe there is the rare false allegation of rape, but I think that the number is very hyped up. Accusing someone of rape can turn into a huge and lengthy process - you have to go to trial, talk to lawyers, lie to your friends and your family, be interrogated by policemen and the defendant's attorney etc. Do you honestly think that most people would go through months of this process just because they were "embarrassed"?

Unless this girl said, "After I pass out, you can carry my lifeless body around, stick your fingers into my private area and urinate on me" then she didn't consent to any of that happening. Most people who pass out at parties only have to worry about their friends drawing 'penises' on their faces, NOT rape from people who they probably know and trust.

Also I don't think she gets paid from them being convicted.

Like putting a cold steak on a black eye. For Steubenville, that is.

Who knows what really happened, but justice was done the best they could do.

Hard telling what a drunk teenage girl wants. I haven't read or heard of any of her texts mentioning money. She needs counseling and also should be held accountable for her underage drinking. Her actions did lead to other crimes being committed. The sentence the boys received was fair.

How old are you anyway? This is an old man's view of rape. Did she rape herself? No, she didn't. Those boys did that and have been justly convicted of the crime they comitted. A minor, and especially a drunk minor, CAN NOT legally give consent to anything.

Whether she "got around a lot" or not is irrelevant. How she dressed or acted is irrelevant. What she said or not is irrelevant. Got it?

Of course not. She was passed out drunk and the football stars took advantage of her. The rapists buddies put the screws to them by posting all the derogatory stuff on the net.

No she wanted Justice and it looks like she will have some the guys are going to jail and that is a good thing!

Money can help a bit.

I have heard alot of cases were the girls get mad for having a one night stand or there bf dumps them and call it rape to humilate the guy and get money, not because they want justice. She probably got around alot, and the main reason this was a big deal was becaus e of pictures.

revenge.
