If there is not a massive effort to get people to take responsibility for their health... be proactive in practicing healthy lifestyles, society will be faced with taking care of literally millions of frail, debilitated centenarians.
To Booboo... The concern is not about being against aging, it's the valid concern about what those extra golden years will look like. For many they will be rich, fulfilling years, but for a great many others it will be years of extended pain and suffering, because technologies just won't let them die.
It means that there will be more people on earth, even though earth cannot support any more people.
What's wrong with aging gracefully? We all die in the end, why not just get it over with and not prolong the suffering?
I actually don't understand why people don't want to age, since when is aging so horrible? Doesn't things like wrinkles and such show that you've lived your life and you're gone this far, aging is beautiful. Why are we so ashamed?
cure for aging has different meaning for different persons for some for most longer age means more active sexual pleasure
So a lot of progress is being made in the field of slowing aging/preventing it.
What do you think the consequences will be if this actually stops/slows the aging process?
I like the idea that it will allow people to not spend the last 20-30 years of their lives suffering in an age care home and that is has great health benefits for everyone as it reduces the risk of cancer, heart disease, etc.
What do you think governments will do regarding this? How will it be misused? Will the rich people keep it for themselves?
