I recently watched a National geographic special that was done last year, No one will ever be able to live there.I read some one say people live there.Thats not true.Thousands of families surrounding this disaster are dieing from cancer, When this melt down accured workers were offered triple pay to cap the problem, cover the reactor with concrete. All these workers are dead, there families died. Pics were shown of hundreds of trucks cranes vehicles used in the clean up They were supposed to be buried,Worker were sick, and no one will enter the area because of high radiation. They will sit there untill the end of time. or untill the levels are safe.Which ever happens first. The radiation from this disaster circled the world. cancer rates measured out from ground zero, lessen at about 1000 miles, Millions were affected and not just russians. Cancer rates are just now starting to drop, as radiation is dropping, But this was a horrible disaster. Far more people died from this melt down than from the Bombs dropped on japan in WW2, It just took years instead of moments. After the accident News agencies stopped reporting about it.There was nothing anyone could do about it.
You may enjoy this photo tour of Chernobyl. The toc is at the very bottom.
