Yes - thats whats 'never' mentioned under Gaddafi's rule.!!
All though Gaddafi was a dictator during his regime rule - the peoples were 'better off' under his rule - than what they've got now'....which is now civil war controlled by religious fanatics....of different factions.
The removal of these middle-east dictators has only led to the total destruction of those countries - nothing was gained by the people masses....only these fanatics have gained 'anything' (power) from those peoples rebellions....the ordinary peoples went from the frying pan into the fire....of 'lifetime' civil war.!!
Yes. But a dictatorship, no matter how benign, is still a dictatorship with closed doors to anyone seeking power and influence to change things. Russian Communism would also have been fine if only people had put up with their lot rather than dissenting. China has run sucessfully for thousands of years with dictatorial dynasties punctuated by interregnums of chaos.
The 0% bank interest is an Islamic law. Gasoline (petrol) would be cheap in a country that produces oil and exports most of it. I don't know about all the other things.
Today I heard some things about conditions in Libya pre Gadhafi death which I'm thinking surely can't be true or there wouldn't have been an uprising. I can't remember exact details but they were along the lines of:
1. Electricity was free to all homes
2. All married people received 50k on marrying
3. The gov paid 50% of cost of new car
4. Petrol about 15p per gallon
5. Free education & health care for all.
6. Bank loans 0% interest by law.
Is this true ?
