When the truth finally surfaces, Snowden will be returning to the USA as a certified Hero. What Snowden is set to expose about the American Government far exceeds any concerns about PRISM. PRISM is child's play compared to what the United States Government is into. The Government is in possession of a classified technology that is exotic in nature and based upon a different kind of physics. The Government is using this technology to conduct illegal, unethical, and non-consensual human experiments on 1000s world wide. And this is just the tip of the proverbial iceberg. That is what the U.S. Government is truly worried about. Some of the effects of these experiments rival those of the Holocaust, I kid you not. If the nature of the experiments are made known to the world, the United States Government would be shamed, America could never hold the moral high-ground concerning human rights every again.
That's why they want Snowden.

When on his way to some sort of prison, an Alien spaceship will land on earth claiming they want Snowden or the world will be destroyed. Then they will take him and he will marry an Alien and live happily on the planet Zurax.
Sooner or later, he'll be back home in the good ole US of A. No doubt about it. He'll be facing the music and paying the piper one day. It'll happen.
He will live in a home on a beach somewhere and live happily ever after..
