Somalia is actually among the poorest, if not the poorest, and less controllable countries in the world. It is very underdeveloped, people lack the basic needs and the country lacks basic infrastructure. It is also a very fragmented country. The north is out of the central government's control, while in the south the Islamic militias control a larger area than that of the government. I agree about it's climate and potential but it will take decades for the country to stabilize.

It has been nearly two decades yet they are still fighting what is wrong with them. me and my mate volunteered to go to Somalia about 2 months a go and it was a nice place and its people were nice i don't understand the problem why the fighting each other. They have got nice beaches there with clear sand and they have got nice whether i swear if the war was to end i would actually live there it would a good tourist location if there was no wars there. It pisses me of they are still fighting and they can't see the beautiful country in front of them !!!!!!!!!!!!! :(
