Yes I suppose that's how any monarchy starts.They are not Gods. The North Korea dictator is perhaps in the position to declare himself anything,but may not do as "Kings" don't have a very good name in their system of government.
I thought that he thought that he was more of a God than King. His people worshiped his grandfather, his father and now him like a God. They even worship their pictures.
I remember watching this documentary where some foreign Doctors went to N Korea and performed surgery on many of the citizens eyes. They had cataracts really bad, some of them were completely blinded. When they were finished and could see again, they thanked the picture of father Kim IL instead of thanking the Doctors.. as if he healed them.
