'haven't heard that about Sandy, why is that?'
Because the media doesn't want you to know about it, and doesn't want to focus on it.
But there is looting in New York, you just have to search for the news of it.
More people evacuated from Katrina. When the storm passed there wasn't anyone around left to run the stores. So if you're standing there thirsty and hungry, and there's a boarded up grocery store, what do you think you should do? Yeah, stealing is wrong but if it's a matter of life and death, you do what you gotta do.
In this case, there are more people left. Stores have reopened although they are rapidly running out of supplies.
Meanwhile, it's still going to be about a week before power is fully restored. No word yet on how they're going to get tanker trucks in to refill the gas stations so people can keep their generators running, or cars fueled up, let alone bring in new supplies...
So that's another 7 days. At least. In cold fall temperatures with no heat, no running water, no hot water, and a quickly dwindling supply of food. What do you think will happen in another 2 or 3 days? Hopefully NYC makes us proud but seriously, it's going to get quite tense...
Well remember, Hurricane Katrina is not a joke. Its put many people into homelessness and killed about 1,800 people, maybe 2,000 will be confirmed in a few years. Katrina also broke buildings, bridges, houses, had huge floods and like I said before, put people into homelessness. Hurricane Sandy seems strong, but it got nothing on Katrina. When people became homeless people barged into stores and caused crimes because they had no where else to go. Majority of the people in NYC live in buildings. Sandy didn't make any buildings fall or damaged them entirely. New Jersey had it bad also but here is the BIG story. When Katrina hit, they government was very slow to act and many people panicked because of it. People didn't see help from the Government so they acted quickly.
This is a political season the media may not be reporting on looting and such at this point and time
Just wait! It's all going to get a lot worse before it gets better!
During Katrina one of the.main problems were.people breaking into stores, we haven't heard that about Sandy, why is that?
