When I taught High School and Jr. High, we had to have rules that none of the kids wore their hoods.........because if you let one, they all wanted to....they wanted to wear hoods so the staff had trouble identifying them in the halls and on school grounds.....that was the point of wearing the hoods.........duh? Why would you wear a hood in a store anyway? That is the mind set of the majority of youth....because the culture is just that.......to go against attorney.
There is a sign on the front door of my bank and it clearly states people are not to wear hoodies and to remove dark glasses.before entering the bank. What do you think they are thinking? Anytime a bank robber is caught on video you can barely see the face because of some sort of head covering (hat pulled down or hoodie to cover face ) and dark glasses. It is intended to make it easier to identify the criminals not question someones fashion taste.
that's just what Al Sharpton would love for you to think. But the truth is, I don't think it matters if Trayvon Martin was wearing a hoodie, a speedo, or was butt naked...wandering into someone yard and looking in their windows is going to get you profiled by anyone. Personally, I think your actions speak louder than what you're wearing any day. My neighbor who was an African American jogged by me in a sweatsuit the other day and I barely looked at him. I locked my doors when a fairly goodlooking white guy drove up to my house in a blue Cadillac a few years ago. He was welldressed, but I was out in the middle of nowhere and I didn't know the guy.
Unless it is storming or raining heavily there is absolutely no reason to have a hood on your head unless you are up to no good or do not want to be recognized as per videos of people robbing various establishments in the news. I work in a place where no hoodies are allowed in the door. Hm-mm.. I wonder why. Just check out who are wearing them & make your decision.
I don't think of anything.
30 years ago I was a skinny little kid who wore hoodies before they were in fashion. I got teased for it but didn't care because I liked them.
I don't know where the whole "hoodie = (Black) thug" but anyone who makes such an assumption is a bigot.
Stereotyping Adults.
A youth wearing a hood.
Would you kindly...
Front line infantry in heavy rain.
Then again I don't let the "news" get to me.
I think of a criminal trying to conceal their identity.
What comes to mind ?
