Only recently did stores start opening at Midnight on Friday. And then, not to be out-done, Wal-mart started opening even before thanksgiving was over.
Used to be, Regular mall stores that might open at 9 or 10 AM would open black Friday at 7AM Some still do.
Best advice i can give you is to check your local newspaper. Because those decisions are not always made on a national level.
Yes technically this year Black Friday begins the moment the date changes from the 22nd to the 23rd, but it is up to the stores to chose when their sales start. It also has to do with time zone differences. For example, if all of the sales began precisely at 12:01am local time, people near the time zone border would be tempted to travel east and get their shopping done earlier, or (11:00pm) where they live, and businesses having sales in their town would lose tons of customers to the stores in the earlier time zone.

I know its the day after Thanksgiving, but once it hits midnight on thanksgiving it technically is the next day and black friday sales are at like 1 o clock am - usually around 6 am or is it the day after thanksgiving but its midnight im confused. Hopefully this makes sense
