I feel so sorry for the people over there.Syria and Iraq are in a teribble mess.

Is it our U.S President's fault for this? Why did the war start?

When somebody makes a stance against Saudi Arabia, they are paying for and organizing the terrorism that has been gripping Iraq recently, as they are unhappy with the 'Shia' dominated government, but none of the cowardly weasels running Western countries at the moment will say or do anything, because the Saudi monarchists are good little doggies who trade their vast oil wealth in dollars amongst other obedient tasks

First off the war in Iraq is over, what is going on there is their own country men trying to take over and make it the way they want it to be. It is a terrible thing that is happening in the middle eastern countries because this is happening in more than just Iraq, Afghanistan, Saudi even on the Gaza strip and the Jews, Christians and so on, its just political and religious factions trying to take control of something or some place.

It is not this presidents fault for any of this, this has been happening for hundreds if not thousands of years. But the Iraq war was started be some nut that wanted world dominants and it sucked in the American people and our armed forces.

since then the whole region has been a mess

the real game at this stage is just to stop it from getting worse

as far as Iraq goes, they had a half way decent country prior to the first gulf war

most societal indicators were at least as good as countries like greece

The occupation by the U.S. ended a couple of years ago. But the Sunnis are trying to get back into power after the U.S. killed Saddam and installed the Shia Muslims into office. Pres Obama did not start the conflict in Iraq but he did not stop it either. I wouldnt call it a war since Iraq did not have an army that could fight the U.S. Starting in the 1990s we had bombed the country to bits for 13 years and when we went in it was already decimated, easy pickings. The U.S. doesnt go to war, it just attacks countries that have no defenses.
