A 22lr rifle. In a survival situation, a 22 long rifle is probably the best gun in a SHTF situation. They are usually light, are common, accurate, inexpensive, and durable. The bullet they fire, the 22lr, is a common round, does not make as much noise compared to other guns, and you can literally carry thousands of rounds on you. People would not consider it to be able to penetrate through the skull, but it is able to do so. The amount of force it takes for an object to penetrate a skull is 50 psi. A 22lr round travels at around 90 psi. Plus, out of all the rounds in the world, 22lr kills more people each year than any other round. For a 22 long rifle, I would recommend the Ruger 10/22 for its great ergonomics.

A phased plasma rifle in the 40 watt range. If you want to shoot fictional targets a fictional weapon is the best choice.
A flame thrower. Or just pack lots of dynamite.
A grenade machine gun would be fun!
