Absolute power corrupts---absolutely. Too many police officers are infected with the belief that THEY are far superior than the people they are supposed to protect. Like politicians, the police are public servants. I have never heard of a servant demanding to be treated far more honorably than the person they serve. It shows in their attitude, all the time. The dog is a nuisance---shoot the dog. The prisoner is a nuisance---murder the prisoner.
This is a truly sad and preventable event that could have been prevented if the owner of the dog had complied with the officers. The officers ( if you look at the video you can see there are at least 6+ police cars. The officers were actively investigating a report of two people having been robbed. The owner of the dog was not just out walking his dog. I've seen a lot of people walk there dog before and this is the first time I've seen a person walk their dog back and forth on a cross walk. Why would he drive his dog to take it on a walk ?That car parked near the crosswalk is his car.He intentionally got his dog out and paced in the crosswalk pointing and speaking to the officers who had asked that he turn down his radio. His loud music would be a distraction for officers who were looking for suspects. That man was compromising every ones safety in that neighbourhood so he could have a testosterone rush. You can see a couple of people standing on their property and watched the events unfold. This man is know to the police and currently has a law suit against the police. He walked up towards the officers and then turned and put his dog in the car .How secure did he think his dog would be in a car that had both windows rolled down.He walked towards the officers and then turned around in order to be handcuffed. Of course his dog is going to try to protect his owner. The officers were protecting them self. In my opinion this man was willing to sacrifice his dog and probably will have another lawsuit against the city .I feel sorry for the dog who demonstrated more loyalty for his master than the owner did for his dog. What if the dog had been run over by a car because the dog wasn't secure in the car ? Would we blame the driver of the car or the irresponsible dog owner? The officers don't know the nature of this dog or what it is capable of.Dog owners are responsible to have control of their dog ,case closed.Lets show a little outrage at the owner who is probably counting dollar signs from his lawsuits. Did the dog owner even try to command his dog to stay or sit.
Of course the dog was trying to protect its owner , there will be a bigger outrage over the dog than there would be if the man had been shot
are the police now busy trying to dig some dirt on the dog
Cops are not too smart. They'd rather just shoot something that deal with it the proper way. What the stupid cops should have done, instead of being so eager to slap handcuffs on the dog's owner, would have been to release their grip on him and let him get his dog under control. But no, the stupid rambo cops have the same solution to everything - kill it.
I hope someone eviscerates that cop with their bare f*cking hands and leaves his body out to rot with maggots boring through his rancid flesh. Motherf*cker...
stupid cops. the dog didnt "leap" it was just standing there. the cop should be put on desk duty for a few years
