The reelection of President Obama.
In recent time's the Boxing Day Tsunami in Asia.
There was also an earthquake in China in the 70's that killed ten's of millions but was never reported in the west because the Communist government didn't want it known.
But the worst natural disaster of all time would have to be the meteor that wiped out the Dinosaurs.
Definitely huge volcano eruption/explosion.
forest fire, earthquake, tsunami or water flood can be healed by nature very quickly. In worst case after couple years there will be no sign of any damage. Trees and plants will grow again, animals coming back to their territories...
But damage from volcano activity is for decades. Burnt everything, covering with ash, hard and thick crust of lava - it can take very, very long time to change that back to living conditions.
And yes, I should mention some "natural" interference from space (impact of huge meteor, strong solar flare caught by Earth or similar), that could be countless times worst than any volcano eruption, depend it's nature, size or mass (and place), impacted to earth.
depends on the magnitude of the disaster (tsunami, hurricane, etc). The absolute worst would probably be if a supervolcano erupted.
The worst one I can think of was the tsunami that struck southern Asia a few years ago. There was such tremendous loss of life that I think it comes to mind as the worst on I can recall.
The 2004 Tsunami killed a quarter of a million people, with 80,000 of them being children.
It would be the solar flare from the sun if that would happen.
