The focus is currently on assault rifles: semi-automatic (full auto is already illegal) with large ammunition/clip capacity. Specifically the ones that can fire 20-40 rounds in about 8-20 seconds.
Shotguns and revolvers are not the focus at this time.
Only the guns owned by honest, law-abiding citizens. The criminal element would not be affected.
So called "assault weapons", automatic weapons. The criminals will not be concerned with any such laws.
