RIP Shirley Temple - Now here was a child star without the heartache story. Shirley Temple was level- headed and knew when it was time to call it a day and move on to something else. Many child stars today could learn from that.

Excellent political career and obviously a clever woman , but lets not overestimate the musical talent.

Her voice was awful and basically just a squawking child. She only found fame due to the fact that a 'precotious' little madame with a brimming overconfidence and curly hair was, at the time a novelty !

That's why her musical career was over by the time she was 23.

A precocious child with a squawking voice who was pushed by her ambitious mother. She earned $millions but found out later that her Trust had a pittance of it in it. At the time of her fame she was a ray of sunshine in the Depression but she eventually realised at 23 that her acting talent was non existent and retired.

A much more talented child star was Judy Garland who depute her demons with alcohol and drugs gave much enjoyment to millions until her untimely death. Her singing voice from a child through to adulthood was incredible

squeeky voice or not, she became really famous. sounds like Justin Bieber
