Why is everyone's solution to any action by a country we don't agree with "Let's attack them!"
There is this thing called diplomacy, you know. It's oftentimes far more effective than shooting people. Cheaper too. Now if things deteriorate in Ukraine, and diplomacy with Russia doesn't work, then unfortunately it may be necessary to put up some troops. But that should be the LAST option - not the first one.
That would be a foolish thing to do. Russia is not Iraq or Afghanistan. They have a much more superior military and weapons than those middle eastern countries. Russia is also close allies with China. Not sure if you are aware of this, but in China, when a person reach a certain age, 18 I think, it is mandatory to do basic military training. So during a draft China can mobilize almost 200 million troops. The western countries combined together can barely mobilize 10 million troops. This is why the situation in the Ukraine is so tense and volitile.
No everyone should attack the US as it's the most corrupt country ever. Why is it okay for US to invade Iraq and Afghanistan but Russia isn't allowed to protect the Russian people living in Ukraine.
Oh yes, start a nuclear war and destroy the earth in the process over a country that was a part of Russia for many years and that has many ethnic Russian people living in it who wouldn't mind being a part of Russia again. That would be like the US hurting Canada and Russia attacking the US over that ...
Sorry sometimes force is not the solution to all problems.
Maybe....maybe not an attack....but it would be world disaster if we don't stand up to Putin's Russia. 'We' I mean the USA/UK/ NATO combine.
We've seen this before in history when Hitler 1st took the Rhineland, then Sudetenland, then Czechoslovakia, then Poland starting WWII...and the lazy USA with it's isolationists cowards (like now) did nothing! We could have stopped Hitler when he 1st got going and saved the world.
Putin is the new Hitler and he's on the march, if we don't stop him now he'll be too strong to stop later.
A US attack however is out of the question for now...we have very few troops in that region and only about 100 planes, Putin has amassed 200,000 troops and 1000 planes. Russia borders Ukraine on 2 sides and the Russian navy in the Black Sea is blocking the 3rd side. It would be very hard for us to get military into Ukraine and the US would need about 60 days to assemble the ships, planes, tanks, troops and move them the 1000's of miles there (the Russian only have to step across the border).
The US was completely blindsided/ sucker punched on this one.
