As the saying goes: "If guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns". I believe that owning a firearm is a god-given right. However, with that right also comes the responsibility to use the equipment in a way that does not harm others, and if anyone pull out gun in order to take out an armed criminal, it must be done in a way that does not jeopardize the lives of other human beings, and that would be impossible in a crowded cinema full of smoke and bullets flying everywhere.
Yes start with children and when they reach the age of ten give them a gun with the same serial number as their issued SS# Make them qualify with it before they are promoted to junior high. Cowards will not try to rob or kill when there is a good chance they will be shot at.
Definitly agree. Would you really cross someone if you knew they could have a hidden side arm with them? And so would everyone else around you? Crime rates will go down when people fear each other more than the police or swat team.
The NRA is gonna hate this, but ban the sale of guns to all private citizens and perhaps some of the violence can be alleviated.

I think everyone should be able to carry a gun because it would lower crime rates. Proof- back in the western days (i learned this in college) that crime rates were so low because more people had access to a gun in possession.
Nowadays people will pull a stunt like James Holmes because he knows that he can kill alot of people without worrying about getting shot by them because whats the chances of them shooting back.
If gun laws were changed and everybody ( certain age limit/ and pass the requirements) had a gun than i honestly believe this wouldnt have happen.
think about it, as a gun man...all by yourself, would you really attempt to kill dozens of people if you know they will shot back at you ?
