Several questions about 'the end of the world' ...?

1. The Mayan count of days is not a calendar, it is a count of days.

2. The calculation that the end of the 13th bak'tun or group of 144.000 days will end in December 2012 was made by Goodman, Martinez and Thompson in the 20th century, three gentlemen who knew all about leap years. The claim that it has happened already because the Maya did not know about leap years appeared on that repository of all wisdom, Facebook a few months ago.

3 The only reference to the end of the 13th bak'tun is on a single monument and is damaged. it reads that at the end of the 13th bak'tun nine somethings (or possibly one named god) will descend from somewhere to somewhere else)

4. In another Mayan city, Palenque, another inscription reads that King Pacal would be remembered at the end of the 20th bak'tun, which is in 4772 by our years.

5. There is no Mayan prophecy of the end of the world or a "great spiritual change". The 13th bak'tun was significant to them because it ends on the same day as their 260 day ceremonial cycle.. Basically, it meant party time.

6. The claim that the Maya predicted an end of the world probably originated in 2002. Since the 1990s, Nancy Lieder had been claiming she had been abducted by aliens and told that planet X would damage the Earth by a close approach in May 2003. By the early 2000s some frauds were making money by stealing material from her websites and forums and publishing them in book form. By 2002 it was clear even to most of the mugs who initially believed her that there was no planet X. To continue to make money from this, the frauds postponed planet X to fit in with existing nonsense about the Mayan count of days.

7. The original nonsense was probably started by astrologer Dr. Jose Arguelles in the 1980s who blathered on about an "harmonic convergence" (whatever that is) or a great spiritual change. Arguelles also claimed he was a reincarnated Maya and that time was faster than light among other things.

8. Since then a few dozen other frauds have jumped on the bandwagon and added their own lies.

I think the May 2012 one was just a rehash of the failed May 2011 rapture Could be wrong, I didn't take much notice of it.

Georgia guidestones says population must be kept at 500,000,000 (500million)

As I'm sure you're well aware, the current population is over 6.6billion.

So, by that notion, 95% must be removed in accordance with this guidestone.

Ok let's forget the guidestone for a sec and move onto a religious point of view - not all prophecies have come true, although more and more from both the Bible and the Quran are occurring as time goes on.

In my opinion, I do not think that the world will 'end' so to speak but peoples lives will end. A lot of lives. Your world? My world? Probably. Their world? No.

I cannot tell you what is inside my mind, as there is too much information for me to share without you thinking I'm crazy.(If you dont already) But remember this, often the most far fetched ideas are the most fertile.

To find the answers you're looking for, simply type in 'false flag' on Youtube. If you go in with an open mind, I guarantee you will have your answer.

Also - foreshadowing is something worth searching.

Good luck.

1. Everyone is convinced that the world will end in December 2012 because the Mayans' calender ended on 12/21/12.

2. The only reason people actually believed that the world was going to end was because the Mayans have been right about other things.

3. People said the world was going to end in 2000,2010, & now 2012. It didn't happen before, & there isn't a reason for it to happen now.

Not everyone was convinced the world would end in May.

People belonging to a particular religious group did, because their leader told them so.

When the world didn't end, he blamed discrepancies in the Georgian calender.

Not everyone is convinced the world will end this December the 12th. Well, I'm not.

There is no real hard evidence that the world will end this year.

Anyway this planet is very resilient to man-made damage, I don't see it ending or being destroyed.

This system will end.

But only god knows when that will be.

& he did not invent the calender, humans did.

So it seems very unlikely he'll look at the date.

I believe that the may 2012 theory was like the alignment of planets or something silly like that. December 2012 is because thats when the Mayans calendar ends. It won't end in December lol. Because the Mayan calendar ended doesn't mean the world is going to end. It's just the end of their calendar, like how ours ends in december.

No intelligent person believes anything you listed.

?Why was everyone so convinced that the world would end in May 2012?

?Why is everyone convinced the world will end in the upcoming Decmeber 2012?

?From a realist's* perspective, do you think the world will end in December and why?

*When I say realist, I don't mean someone who is dead set against it and will say 'no'. I mean someone who has real evidence and is logical and realistic.
