Is this against his human rights?

It is very questionable from a justice point of view. Unless they have some rock-solid evidence(which I doubt they have) this is nothing more than a cheap-political tactic to bully Irish Nationalists.

Also if you wanna get the scoreboard out, both side committed serious atrocities, so where's the investigation into British crimes?

The law in the UK states that

"The police can hold you for up to 24 hours before they have to charge you with a crime or release you.

They can apply to hold you for up to 36 or 96 hours if you’re suspected of a serious crime, eg murder.

You can be held without charge for up to 14 days If you’re arrested under the Terrorism Act."

This is the same whether you are a road sweeper or a highly paid politician, are you suggesting that these rules should not apply to Gerry adams?

Unless the police apply for a 14 day extension, under the Terrorism Act, he will be released this evening (Sunday) or charged with murder and held on remand.

As they are investigating a terrorist murder of mother-of-10 Jean McConville by the IRA, then I believe that they could legally apply to do so, if they feel the evidence justifies it..

The police have done nothing wrong and we can be sure that Mr Adams has the very best legal advisors sitting with him during all of the police interrogations, ensuring that the laws protecting prisoners in custody are followed to the letter.

If Gerry Adams was in any way responsible for this despicable murder then I want our police force to do whatever is necessary to put him in jail.

It's called justice, there has never been an amnesty for IRA or UDI who committed murders during the "troubles", nor should there be so.

The phrase was "UP to 17 hours", given his legal representation a solicitor and a barrister, you can be certain of 2 things.

1. They will behave absolutely within the Legal framework.

2. He will be sitting, saying nothing but smirking a lot...

NO.Its an ordinary criminal investigation, and they must have some evidence for a Judge to have allowed them extra time. Jerry Adams is not above the law.

The UK soldiers have been investigated many times.

So is murdering a mother of 10 and for neil's benefit it's not the British government holding him

I do not believe for one minute that has has been questioned for 17 hours a day. For a start his lawyer would presumably be with him and he would never allow this.

Well he did go to the Polis voluntarily ,according to the media . also the newspapers want us to buy their scribblings so make things they print a must read , for some .

And the source close to Jerry Adams who is claiming this would not tell a lie or, exaggerate the truth for publicity or propaganda would they?

so jerry adams is been questioned for 17 hours a day giving him only 7 hours rest.

this cannot be right and amounts to torture.

what on earth are they talking about anyway if he is innocent

and where are his supporters outside of that torture chamber?
