How did things change after 9/11?

i was watching this show and this guy said that the day right after 9/11 things would never be the same in the United states.

After 9/11 it became extremely uncomfortable to ride somewhere in an airplane. We now pay money to arrive at the airport ridiculously early, and then we stand in line waiting to be molested by airport security before we board the plane. The planes are so full that a person can barely breathe, but don't give in to a panic attack. You can be arrested for losing your mind these days.

I remember once when I had forgotten that I had a tiny pair of scissors in my handbag. When airport security found it? I almost fainted in fright. It must have showed, because the airport security were very kind to me. I turned so white that they had me sit down immediately and reassured me that I would be okay. I gave up the scissors of course, and I was able to go on my way.

The biggest change I've noticed is that the American people are asking questions about September 11th. They don't like the government explanation, and they're quick to point out how inadequate that explanation was. People have become very cynical of their government leaders and what they are up to. There is anger and suspicion about all this government secrecy.

I believe that the events of 9/11 and the War in Iraq did severe damage to the public trust. The outrage expressed when the president wanted to make airstrikes on Syria was phenomenal. When the public became aware that the Syrian rebels had members of terrorist groups fighting with them? No matter what political party people belonged to? They all joined together in trying to stop this farce from ever happening.

Most of the major wars and economic depressions/recessions of the past 100 years were carefully planned out by the banking families. Some of these include: French Revolution, The Spanish-American War, WWI, The Great Depression, the Rise of Nazi Germany, WWII, Soviet Union, Korean War, Vietnam War, 1991 Gulf War, Iraq war and Afghanistan:

Unfortunately, he's right.

Prior to 9/11 if you had asked people - even Republicans - about going to war with Iraq because the president thought they had WMDs, they would have laughed at you.

Prior to 9/11 if you had asked people if they were willing to give up their constitutional rights and be given a choice of being irradiated or sexually molested in exchange for some vague promises how this helps airport security, they would have laughed at you.

Prior to 9/11 if you had asked people if it was OK to torture prisoners for information - even those you weren't even sure were actually guilty of anything - they would have laughed at you.

Unfortunately after 9/11, we did all of these things, and people often used the phrase "after 9/11 everything changed" as an excuse and justification for these actions.

Well, excuse me, but the only thing that changed after 9/11 was us.

Al Qaeda had been in existence for nearly a decade and they were hardly the first, or even the latest, group of extremists to declare a war of ideology against the US. Heck, 9/11 wasn't even the first time there had been a terrorist attack by foreigners (radical extremists from the Middle East at that!) carried out against the WTC. And what did we do? We captured the terrorists, put them on trial, and stuck them in prisons on US soil, for life. They're still there even now.

On 9/11, we allowed our fear, and hatred get the better of us. Worse still, rather than assuage our fears, and act in a morally responsible manner, our president and government at the time used this fear and hatred from 9/11 to do whatever the f*** they wanted. "Better pass the Patriot Act or else...9/11!" "Better go to war with Iraq or else...9/11!"

Even now, the extreme conservatives aren't afraid to try to use 9/11 as a campaign tool to further their own narrow-minded, un-American views.

We got the Patriot Act 1 and 2. The first one was only intended to spy on overseas calls from suspect sources or countries, but today the Patriot Act has been retranslated to give the government the right to bug all calls. Also 911 is the justification for us to go into all these countries and fight a war. Iraq, Libia, Egypt, Afghanistan and now probably Syria. Our government continues to try and go after our guns. Pelocy said she wants them all.

What had happened was that the United States ,since the Alamo, had never been attacked on our own soil. Since WWI it was a personal pride thing that we would stay strong enough that no one would invade us. We would take the fight to their soil.

9-11 proved that we had let ourselves down, that we had gotten so arrogant we felt we could throw stones but no one could throw stones back at us. That was like a glass of cold water in the face.

We are not sure that it is fixed and that is what all the saber rattling is about now.

in ancient greece , at a murder trial , the prosecutor would ask " who profits ? " . since 9 11 we have seen the largest redistribution of wealth in human history , from the middle class working man , up to the top few percent richest . tens of trillions have been money grubbed from home equities and life savings . so who profits ? the muslims ? not so much . the people who died that day were not murdered , they were martyred for the zionist agenda of greed of wall street , corporations , and the bankers . it worked .

Everything changed. Security measures changed, but most importantly, the government started exercising questionable powers claiming it was for security reasons. We need to learn to live with risk.

We ignored the advice of the founders and gave up liberty for security and now have neither. We also gave up our critical thinking abilities to blindly accept a very fishy official story.

OMG THAT WAS 13 YEARS AGO....can we move on? PEOPLE DIE ALL OVER THEIR WORLD EVERYDAY. NO ONE CRIES FOR THEM FOR OVER A DECADE
