You could complain about the noise to the police, since disturbing the peace is illegal, and they might investigate. For example, in the quiet neighborhood that I used to live in, there was a guy who would fire his gun at night in the woods for hours. He always shot like crazy when it was early (like 4 am) or late (like midnight). It scared everyone, and lots of people complained about it, so they sent two officers to patrol the area and try to pinpoint the shooter. However, they never found him. In contrast, I used to live in a dangerous neighborhood where murders and gunfire were common. You just stayed away from the windows (in case of a stray bullet), locked your doors, and hoped for the best. I'm so glad I moved out of that place. Anyway, hope you can get some rest and peace!!!
Heck I live in Memphis, Tennessee and we are use to it, as a matter of fact if we don't hear gun shots it a puzzle to all in my neighborhood and we are upping the blinds to see what is going on.

I just heard someone fire a gun near my house. It is almost 9 pm here and it is the middle of the winter. I went out and told my mom before going back into my room. There were 3 more gun shots one after another. It is completely dark outside so I am just a little confused as to why someone would be firing a gun, pistol or rifle or something.
